Walking with God is being humble before the Lord. We must realize that according to the Bible "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags". That we all fall short of the standard that God is. Jesus mad. way that we might be be saved, we might be reconciled to God. In other words he covers our sins. Once we are saved a work of sanctification begins. This is a setting apart. In other words God is revealing himself to us, working on us that we might closer resemble Jesus in the flesh.
Sanctification is a continuing work that is taking place until we leave this veil.
By humbling ourselves before God and seeking his will, we will start to see things as God sees them. We begin to realize how truly small we are and how great God is! How great his mercy is! How wonderful his Love is! We start to see sin as God sees sin. How destructive it is.How rebellious it is. As we see these things in Gods way, we start to look at our own lives and strive to rid ourselves of even the slightest hint of open sin We examine out thoughts and motivations to make sure that they align with Gods will and purpose for us. We then start to be in-step with God. Walking with him. Obeying Him.
As a Christian, we should notice these changes taking place as we mature as Christians. There should be evidence that you are growing in your Christian Walk. Not forcing your self to do works but a change in your walk that is manifesting itself in your daily life.
10 versus about living the Christian Life in the Bible
Romans Chapter 12: 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Colossians Chapter 3: 5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: 7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. 8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
Matthew Chapter 7: 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
James Chapter 1: 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. 26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. 27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
James Chapter 1: 19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: 20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
Ephesians Chapter 4: 32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
2nd Corinthians Chapter 5: 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
James Chapter 2: 14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Romans Chapter 12: 1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Matthew Chapter 6: 24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
